Ben Folds "The Luckiest"

My brother Jorgen shared this song with me. It's about the best song I've heard in a long time. Don't think there's actually any video to go with it, just the music. Turn it up and enjoy. --Female 1/2

March 17th

This post is in honour of my very good friend Rachel.

Saint Patrick's Day is one of her favourite holidays (not that it's an actual statutory holiday, especially in Korea).

In years past she has made very tasty St. Patrick's day cookies and distributed them. However, she is at the moment oven-less and therefore almost positively also cookie-less.

While I am not a baker (that's Brent), I am sending you thought cookies covered in green icing, Rachel. Brent and I donned our green shirts in your (and St. Patrick's of course) honour. Not only that, we did it a day early because we know it's already the 17th for you!

Love you!

James Taylor

Happy belated birthday to James Taylor, one of my favorite singer/songwriters (although I have a lot of favorite singer/songwriters...)
Every morning on CKUA, Tony King does a musical birthday and yesterday was James Taylor. I meant to blog about it on the day (that would have made more sense) but the day was full up and over before I could.

Tony played one of my favorite James songs and I thought I would share it. He's such a happy songwriter!

Your Smiling Face
Whenever I see your smiling face
I have to smile myself
Because I love you (Yes, I do)
And when you give me that pretty little pout
It turns me inside out
There's something about you, baby (I don't know)
(Chorus)
Isn't it amazing a man like me
Can feel this way
Tell me how much longer
I will grow stronger every day
Oh, how much longer
I thought I was in love
A couple of times before
With the girl next door
But that was long before I met you
Now I'm sure that I won't forget you
And I thank my lucky stars
That you are who you are
And not just another lovely lady
Sent down to break my heart
Isn't it amazing a man like me
Can feel this way
Tell me how much longer
I can grow stronger every day
How much longer
No one can tell me that I'm doing it wrong today
Whenever I see you smile at me
No one can tell me that I'm doing it wrong today
Whenever I see your smile at face my way
No one can tell me that I'm doing it wrong today
No one can tell me that I'm doing it wrong today

What a great song! Luckily, I knew all the words, so I sang right along with the radio and woke Brent up. :)

Happy day everyone!

No blog in three weeks!

Hi everyone!

Sorry so long no blog. It's been a crazy, emotional and stressful past couple of weeks and it's not going to get much easier until school is done.

And just to demonstrate how we feel, please read this Calvin and Hobbes that illustrates our attitude towards getting up for school in the morning many days..

On the up side, the days are getting longer, the sun is shining and there's six weeks left for me and seven for Brent. I went running this morning and came home with soaking wet feet from all the unavoidable puddles. It was quite comical, actually, trying to run at the same time as dodging puddles and sliding through the frozen lake sections....but I wasn't the only one out there tackling it any way!
