Long Time - No Blog

Its been far too long since I've posted on our blog. My other half is pretty good at keeping things up to date, but has been bugging me to contribute as well. So here is my first post in quite a few months. Not substantial either, but have been thinking about this a bit lately. I find it odd how within Calgary you can find two differant scenes; one man-made and one natural. Each one has its own beauty, in different ways.

Wow...it's Friday, the end of another hectic week for both Brent and I. Brent finally got his computer rebuilt by Wednesday. Danish lessons got difficult and we both have lots of review to do. I have my second paper proposal due Monday and a third to complete next week. Boring school junk aside, we went for a walk last night in the clear sunlit evening and took some pictures I thought I'd share. Especially for Trev and Rach's benefit. Here's some more autumn for you:

Fall

The past month or so I've been praying that I might really appreciate the beauty of the fall this year, rather than missing it being so caught up in school work. This morning Brent and I went for a run/bike in the crisp fall sunshine. It was truly lovely. Here are some fall pictures so far:

Finally a new post

Mmm good morning? I'm a sleepy individual this morning. I've got a few minutes to spare so here's a new blog (that's why we haven't blogged lately, things have been very busy). The end product of my sunflowers before the fall wind blew them over and the squirrels once again decimated them:

The Battle Belongs to the Lord

Yesterday Brent and I helped with worship at our church again. He played drums and I sang. One of the songs we sang is one I learned at camp the third year I was on staff there. We used to sing it as all the senior counsellors. Holding hands and worshipping and praising God and placing the spiritual welfare of the campers who'd just left in His hands. It's a beautiful song and I sang it to myself again as I was running this morning. So, I thought I would share it with you. It is my prayer as we enter a new school year, new opportunities to minister to those around us as we meet new people. May we (I) take courage in our opportunities to shine for Him for the battle belong to the Lord and He deserves all glory and honor. The Battle Belongs to the Lord Words and music by Jamie Owens-Collins In heavenly armour we'll enter the land The battle belongs to the Lord No weapon that's fashioned against us shall stand The battle belongs to the Lord We sing glory and honor Power and strength to the Lord We sing glory and honor Power and strength to the Lord The power of darkness comes in like a flood The battle belongs to the Lord He's raised up a standard, the power of His blood The battle belongs to the Lord We sing glory and honor Power and strength to the Lord We sing glory and honor Power and strength to the Lord When your enemy presses in hard do not fear The battle belongs to the Lord Take courage my friend, your redemption is near The battle belongs to the Lord Love, Kirstin
