A coupla things

Sunday afternoon I (Kirstin) went to a dueling harp recital with some of the ladies from our small group. It was beautiful music and SO GREAT to finally feel connected to our church body. These women are truly an answer to prayer for me.

A dose of Calvin and Hobbes for the day:

Lastly, just found out Norah Jones is putting out a new cd right away. If you don't know who Norah Jones is, I highly recommend you find out. If you're not sure what album to buy first, I recommend "Come Away With Me". The first one I got and definitely my favorite...although we shall see what this new one brings! The album cover is kind of creepy but don't let that turn you off.

Working at the C-ment Factory

Thursday I had no class, but I had a tour of a precast concrete company. I really enjoyed it, and coming from a design point of view, it was interesting to see the outcome of our drawings. After the tour I came home and took a look at the pictures I had taken, and really like this one, so here it is. (I did play with the focal point and crop size a bit.)

So, my older brother dumped this link into an email the other day for me, take a look, its pretty impressive.

I was checking out another video article on the site about buying old cameras and piecing them together to come up with really wierd creations. Supposedly the cameras still work, and the author showed some of his work that came of them. I thought I would try to recreate one thing he did, but use photoshop instead. Not quite what he had, but I think it looks kinda cool!

Things about us today

Neither of us has written a real wordy blog lately and because I really don't feel like homeworking, I shall give an update. Today being the 23, we've officially been married one year and six months today. How about that? All is well and we are glad to be married. Sunday night we went to a small group at our Pastor's house. Mostly couples with small kids but we felt very accepted and made us realise how much we really need the small group fellowship and accountability. I think we will keep going. Last night we saw Rob and Suzanne as they were on their way to drop the girls off at Grandma and Grandpa's. There should be a baby Loeppky today! Exciting indeed. Climactic final semesters for both Brent and I--his final for a long time, my final undergrad semester. We are both anticipating being done. If you pick up the latest issue of _Alberta History_ and flip the first article, you will discover that it was written by none other than...moi. If you want a copy, let me know, I've got a stack of them to give away. With some unexpected money earned after Christmas, Brent and I went out and bought me a pair of mountain snowshoes from MEC. We're really wanting to head out to the mountains sometime soon to try them out. These are them. I went to bed last night feeling more than a little under the weather and woke up this morning with a raging sore throat, stuffly nose and headache. Ick. I think that is news. Brent may feel the need to add something though. :)

Christ Follower

Lately I've pondered a lot whether I should be broadcasting my faith more or just plain living it. While I think it is possible to do too little, to never speak up, there is also the problem of going the other way. Here is an interesting little skit that I found that is food for thought. There is three more episodes on YouTube if you're interested. --Female 1/2

January 4th...

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday dear Adam,
Happy Birthday to you!

Today is our friend Adam's birthday and since we are usually terrible for remembering birthdays, I thought I would blog for him. Adam has been our friend for quite a while, probably since he was first in Brent's Sunday School class a number of years ago. He was also the bearer of rings at our wedding. :) We love you Adam! Have a great birthday!
