Canada Day 2008: Mosaic masses of humanity

Yesterday was Canada Day and, to celebrate, we spent several hours in the afternoon at Calgary's Prince's Island Park. We wandered the paths enjoying the masses of people out walking and biking and rollerblading; families and couples and groups of teenagers. Calgary should feel like a grand mixture of different cultures and personalities and traditions and yesterday it did (unlike in two days from now, when Stampede starts and everyone becomes a cowboy).

We heard live bands and buskers, did some serious people-watching, ate some mini-donuts and participated in the spectacle that is Canada Day.
