But we did see some pretty things...

Regrowth after a forest fire seven years ago.

A lovely toadstool...we also saw two toads we later found out are a rare species. They were the size of the palm of my hand...I haven't seen toads like that since I was in Ontario.

A rotten and abandoned cabin, barn and feed manger from the turn of the century.

Beautiful mountains (notice all the snow...a late spring indeed)

A steaming creek in the early morning.

The Whirlpool River, the waterway David Thompson followed to get over the Rocky Mountains one hundred and ninety-six years ago.

Hello,
I found your blog a while back and have enjoyed reading it. Just having a catch-up with some blogs this morning as I've been away for a while. I just realised that many of your trips/photos are areas that we are hopefully visiting this year so it has been very good for me to look at them. We are doing a trip to Vancouver/ Calgary & the Rocky Mountaineer (being very touristy!) so I thought I would say Hi from sunny England and thanks for sharing your pics!

Hey thanks for posting! We're coming to England next May hopefully to backpack for six weeks! If there's any questions we can answer about our lovely country, ask away. :) If you have any advice about backpacking/walking in England, we'd love to hear it!
